Resolved Question: Am I good enough for UCLA? How do I get in?

I know this may be a little early but my dream school is the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). I live about 45 minutes away from campus...and I know that the school is infamous now for taking more out-of-state students. Anyways, I'm still a high school sophomore but I want to start preparing for senior year when I start applying for colleges. I know minorities get more attention and I'm half-Hispanic...would that help? My unweighted freshman GPA was 3.86 and my weighted is 4.51. I didn't do as good last semester and my unweighted GPA was 3.6 with a weighted GPA of 4.3. This semester I'm working towards straight A's. I take one AP class (AP European History) and I'm planning on taking three junior year (AP English III, AP US History, and AP Calculus). I have all honors classes as well. My in-school activities include Club Officer, Ring Ceremony Commitee Member, altar server (I go to a Catholic school), and I work backstage for the school play. I also am part of 4 clubs currently. My extraciricular's include vocal tech, choir, and I have a summer job at a residential camp. I'm crossing my fingers that I can take a trip to Tanzania, Africa next summer as a volunteer. But I don't play sports....even though I might join cross country this year. I want to major in International Affairs or Political Science and get a minor in Theatre or Film Production (yeah I know.....odd combination!). Do you think I have the qualifications to get into UCLA? Any of you ever apply? If not....what else can I do to improve my chances? THANKS! p.s. sorry it's so long!... Read More »
